Urgent Need – Firewood Delivery

We deliver firewood to Sharing House clients. Last year we made 11 client deliveries which maxed out our available resources.

This year our goal is to make 25 to 30 deliveries! To make that happen two things are needed. First, we have stretched our delivery window. We are starting NOW and will continue through March.

But second, we need additional volunteer drivers who have pickup trucks to transport the firewood to the clients.

We have the firewood available to make as many of 100 deliveries! But we need YOUR help to get that wood to our neighbors who can really use it to keep warm this coming winter.

Administrative

We need several people to share their talents with this ministry to help share the load in dealing with “the details!”

Delivery Coordinator is needed to make phone calls to arrange for deliveries of firewood to Sharing House clients.

Public Relations Coordinator is needed to keep our sponsors, partners, volunteers, and the general public informed about the ministry, and to help in the ministry expansion by developing future sponsors and partners.

Financial person is need to assume the responsibility for keep track of our finances. While our cash flow is small, the “books” are important.

Grant Coordinator is needed to help us secure grants for a small number of major capital purchases.

Wood Processing

We have an established crew, but the crew this year is a bit different from last year, so new volunteers are always welcomed.

If you have experience in using a chainsaw safely, you could join our cutting team.

Other volunteers can become splitter operators on our splitting team, or helpers on either team.

We also need helpers to load and unload trucks for making deliveries to Sharing House clients or to restock the Sharing House firewood bins.
