The Mover for the Delivery Team is responsible for loading and unloading firewood to make a delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for loading and helping unload wood being delivered under the direction of the Driver.
- A Delivery Team must have at least one Mover. If delivery is to a client, there should be 2 Movers.
Skills Needed:
- A person with a love of our Lord Jesus and a heart for serving others.
- Physical strength and dexterity required to safely handle firewood. Requires minimal weight lifting and carrying strength compared to the other Mover positions; see Mover descriptions and the Mover Note.
REQUIRED TRAINING:
On-the-job Training provided by the Driver.
TEAMS:
Member of the Delivery Team.
SUPERVISED BY:
Works under the direction of the Driver.
TIME REQUIREMENT:
A delivery may take 1 to 2 hours to load, transport, and unload. One or more loads may be made per workday.
Volunteers are requested to volunteer for at least 12 hours per year.
Mover Note:
Movers can be part of any woodlot work team: Cutting Team, Splitting Team, Stacking Team, or Delivery Team. Each team has specific Mover responsibilities consistent with the work goals of the teams; see Moverdescriptions. You will thus find slightly different requirements for each position: Mover – Cutting Team, Mover-Splitting Team, Mover – Stacking Team, and Mover – Delivery Team.
