WNC FireWood is a 100% volunteer organization organized around volunteer teams.

To volunteer, request additional information, or register for training, please use our Contact Us form.

Each team is comprised of a complement of individuals working in specified positions. It is highly recommended that the team members consistently work together to improve overall team effectiveness. This is especially true of the Cutter—Spotter and Splitter—Assistant pairs.

Safety is a core value of WNC FireWood. To assure all work is performed in a safe manner, we require all volunteers to have job-specific training. The training also covers position requirements, authority, and responsibilities. For more information on specific positions, see Volunteer Position.
